5. Enquiries and bookings
Submitting an enquiry through the website, by email, by phone or by social media does not automatically confirm a booking.
A booking is only confirmed when we have accepted it and confirmed the relevant details with you. This may include the date, time, location, service type, number of participants, price and any specific requirements.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking where we reasonably believe the service is not suitable, safe or appropriate.

6. Prices and payment
Prices may vary depending on the service, session type, duration, location, number of participants and any specific requirements.
All prices will be confirmed before a booking is finalised.
Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. We may require full payment, part payment, a deposit or payment on the day, depending on the type of service.
If payment is not received when due, we may cancel or postpone the booking.

If you need to cancel or change a booking, please contact us as soon as possible.
Cancellation terms may vary depending on the type of booking. We will confirm any specific cancellation terms before or at the time of booking.
Where a deposit has been paid, it may be non-refundable if we have reserved a date, arranged staffing, prepared animals or turned away other bookings.
If you do not attend a confirmed session without giving notice, you may still be charged.

8. Cancellations and changes by us
We may need to cancel, postpone or change a session for reasons including, but not limited to:

  • bad weather;

  • animal welfare concerns;

  • staff illness or availability;

  • safety concerns;

  • unsuitable ground or access conditions;

  • emergency situations;

  • circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where possible, we will offer an alternative date or suitable arrangement.
Animal welfare and participant safety will always come first.

9. Online, telephone and distance bookings
Where a booking is made online, by phone, email or message, certain consumer cancellation rights may apply depending on the type of service and circumstances. UK guidance explains that distance selling rules can give consumers cancellation rights in some situations.
If you ask us to provide a service within any applicable cancellation period, you may be asked to confirm that you want the service to begin. If the service has already been provided, or preparations have already reasonably begun, this may affect your right to cancel or receive a refund.
Any cancellation rights will be explained where relevant at the time of booking.

10. Attendance and participant requirements
Participants must follow all instructions given by staff, instructors, handlers or representatives of Equinimity Wellbeing CIC and Bishton Riding Centre.
For riding lessons and equestrian activities, participants may be required to:

  • wear suitable clothing and footwear;

  • wear an approved riding hat or safety equipment;

  • provide accurate information about riding experience;

  • provide relevant health, medical, access or support information;

  • follow safety instructions at all times;

  • behave appropriately around animals, staff and other participants.

We may refuse participation if we believe it is unsafe or unsuitable for a participant to take part.

11. Children and young people
Children and young people must be booked by a parent, guardian, carer, school, organisation or responsible adult.
Parents, guardians, carers, schools or responsible organisations must provide accurate information about the child or young person, including any relevant medical, behavioural, access, safeguarding or support needs.
Children must be supervised as required by the activity, setting or booking arrangement.

12. Health, medical and support information
You are responsible for telling us about any relevant health conditions, allergies, disabilities, access needs, support needs, anxiety, behavioural considerations or other information that may affect safe participation.
This information helps us plan and deliver appropriate sessions.
We may decide that a session or activity is not suitable if we cannot safely meet the needs of a participant or group.

13. Animal welfare
The welfare of our ponies, horses, dogs and other animals is very important.
We reserve the right to change, pause, end or cancel any session if we believe an animal is tired, stressed, unwell, unsuitable for the activity or at risk.
Participants must treat animals calmly, kindly and respectfully at all times.

14. Safety and risk
Working with animals and taking part in equestrian activities carries some inherent risk. Animals can be unpredictable, even when they are well trained and carefully handled.
We take reasonable steps to reduce risk, including appropriate supervision, planning, risk assessments, safety procedures and animal welfare-led practice.
By attending a session or activity, you acknowledge that some risk remains and agree to follow all safety instructions.

15. Riding and equestrian activities
Riding and equestrian activities involve additional risk due to the nature of working with horses and ponies.
Participants must follow the instructions of instructors and staff at all times.
We may assess suitability for riding activities based on age, size, ability, confidence, experience, health, behaviour, weather, ground conditions and pony/horse availability.
We may refuse, stop or adapt a riding session where we believe it is necessary for safety or animal welfare.

16. Outreach visits and off-site sessions
For outreach visits, including care homes, schools, community groups and other off-site sessions, the host organisation is responsible for providing accurate information about the location, access, parking, participants and any site-specific risks.
The host organisation may also be responsible for ensuring suitable supervision, permissions, space, facilities and safe access.
We may postpone, adapt or cancel an outreach visit if the location or conditions are unsuitable or unsafe.

17. Photos, videos and testimonials
We may occasionally take photographs, videos or request feedback/testimonials to share the work of Equinimity Wellbeing CIC and Bishton Riding Centre.
We will only use identifiable photographs, videos or testimonials where appropriate permission has been obtained.
For children, young people and vulnerable adults, permission must be provided by a parent, guardian, carer, school, organisation or responsible person as appropriate.

18. Behaviour
We expect all visitors, participants, parents, carers, staff, volunteers and organisations to behave respectfully.
We may refuse service, end a session or ask someone to leave if behaviour is unsafe, aggressive, abusive, discriminatory, disruptive or harmful to people or animals.

19. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
We are not responsible for loss, damage, injury or delay caused by:

  • failure to follow safety instructions;

  • inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us;

  • inappropriate clothing or footwear;

  • unsuitable behaviour around animals;

  • circumstances outside our reasonable control;

  • personal belongings being lost, damaged or left unattended.

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services supplied to consumers must be performed with reasonable care and skill.

20. Personal belongings
You are responsible for your own personal belongings when attending a session, activity or visit.
We are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal items unless caused by our negligence.

21. Accessibility and additional needs
We aim to be as inclusive and supportive as possible.
Please tell us about any accessibility requirements, additional needs or support requirements before booking so we can discuss whether the session or activity can be adapted appropriately.
We cannot guarantee that every activity or setting will be suitable for every person, but we will always aim to discuss options respectfully and fairly.

We will aim to respond fairly and promptly.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The latest version will be published on this website with a revised “last updated” date.
